Labor Relations
Labor Relations provides professional and timely level of service to University administrators, managers and supervisors when addressing employee issues who are represented by their respective labor organization, including business agents and stewards, and outside government agencies requiring our service or cooperation.
Major areas of responsibility include:
- Negotiates and administers collective bargaining agreements.
- Facilitates guidance of labor-management issues utilizing appropriate dispute resolution procedure.
- Provides advice and coaching to HR staff (managers, supervisors, administrators, and generalist) regarding performance issues and corrective action procedures.
- Processes University and Union grievances, and provide arbitration and mediation advocacy on behalf of the University for represented employees.
- Meets with local bargaining unit representatives on labor contract issues.
- Co-Chairs the Local 743 Equity Review Committee
- Reviews and approves the Bonus Program for Local 743 employees
