HRS Department

Human Resource Services supports the University of Chicago's mission by providing departments a strategic framework that includes HR solutions, workplace policies and guidelines, recruitment, training classes, programs, competitive benefits, and consultation services that assist University staff.

 

Our Service Units

  • Benefits designs, administers, and manages the benefits programs for all current and retired faculty, academic staff, and staff employees.
  • Compensation administers the job classification system, provides pay advice, and manages the job posting process for staff positions.
  • Employee Relations partners with administrators and staff to provide guidance on policies, procedures, and workplace issues for staff employees.
  • HR Generalists partners with administrators and staff to facilitate HR services and programs for units.

 

  • Labor Relations partners with administrators and staff to provide guidance on collective bargaining agreements and workplace issues for union employees.
  • Learning and Organizational Effectiveness designs and facilitates training for staff that supports professional development and workplace performance, in addition to organizational change consultation.
  • Records Administration maintains staff and student employee records.
  • Staffing and Recruitment helps the University attract and retain a talented and diverse workforce.
